Dili, 25 August 2025 – The National Agency for Academic Assessment and Accreditation, Public Institute (ANAAA, I.P.), has launched the evaluation process for the accreditation of the Bachelor’s degree program in Theology at the Higher Institute of Philosophy and Theology (ISFIT).
The assessment is being carried out on 25–26 August and involves both international and national evaluators, namely:
1. Prof. Rev. Dr. Yusak B. Setyawan, S.Si., MATS (Indonesia)
2. Fr. Acácio D. de Castro, SDB
3. Mr. Francisco Ivo da Costa Freitas, MTheol, PGSD
The main objective of this evaluation is to review and ensure the eligibility and quality of the Theology program, in line with ANAAA’s criteria and standards. The process follows a structured approach: on the first day, meetings are held with the institution’s leadership and stakeholders; on the second day, evaluators conduct verification of documents and observation of facilities, including the library, based on the self-assessment report submitted to ANAAA.
The visit involved active participation from the Rector, Vice-Rector, academic staff, the Internal Quality Assurance unit, support personnel, and other institutional bodies.
At the conclusion of the two-day mission, the evaluation team will issue a provisional report with recommendations for further improvement of the program. The final accreditation results will later be published by ANAAA, marking an important step in strengthening the quality of higher education in Timor-Leste.
