Dili – The Rector of ISFIT, Father Justino Tanec, officially opened the 2025 academic year of ISFIT. This opening ceremony was marked by an inaugural lecture titled Neurotheology: Brain and Spiritual Behavior, held on January 20, 2025, at the São José Cathedral Hall.
The keynote speaker for this inaugural lecture was Rector of UNIKA Atma-Jaya, Prof. Dr. Yuda Turana, Sp.S (K), and the moderator was Prof. Elídio Augusto Guterres, M.Phil. In the context of the topic, the keynote speaker shared extensive insights into the relationship between neuroscience and spirituality, discussing various points on the subject.
In his speech, the Rector of ISFIT officially opened the academic year, stating that it was a moment of celebration and renewal lecturer faith and commitment to the formation of intellectual, ethical, and spiritual leaders for Timor-Leste. He highlighted several points about ISFIT, including students, lecturers, infrastructure, and details of the inaugural lecture.
Before concluding his speech, he also expressed gratitude to all the attendees and shared his positive wishes: “Once again, thank everyone for their presence and also conclude this speech with words of gratitude and the conviction that, with faith, science, and courage. We will build a better future for the coming generations, with great optimism, I declare in the beginning of the 2025 academic year at ISFIT, and I wish everyone has good condition in academic journey filled with learning, achievements, and contributions to a more prosperous in Timor-Leste.” (Média ISFIT)
