Dili – The National Agency for Academic Assessment and Accreditation (ANAAA), or Agência Nacional para Avaliação e Acreditação Académica (ANAAA) in Portuguese, conducted the assessment of second cycle institutional accreditation for the Instituto Superior de Filosofia e Teologia (ISFIT). The evaluation process took place over two days, from October 9th to 10th, 2024, in the ISFIT meeting room.
The first day began with a formal meeting between the ANAAA’s evaluators team and ISFIT’s leadership, including the Rector, Vice-Rectors, and Board members and IQA. The Rector of ISFIT opened the session with a brief presentation that introduced the institution to the evaluators. Then, the Executive Director of ANAAA, Dr. Nilton D. Paiva Mau introduced the evaluator members for this second cycle accreditation with read CV and gave a short brief before continuing for the next session.
The evaluation evaluators were composed of both national and international experts. The international evaluator was Prof. Dr. Michael Tomlinson from Australia, while the national panelists were Pe. Dr. Plácido T. Freitas, SDB, and Dr. Lourenço Camnahas.
In addition, the evaluators got information about institutions through met and discussed with various stakeholders, including the deans, heads of departments, faculty members, students, alumni, and external partners. This comprehensive engagement allowed for an in-depth review of ISFIT’s academic processes and operations. Following these meetings, the team carried out a thorough review of ISFIT’s internal documents, in collaboration with the institution’s Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) team and head of departments.
On the second day, the ANAAA team conducted a site visit to assess ISFIT’s facilities and infrastructure. After the inspection, the evaluators held a closed-door meeting to discussed and finalize their report based on checked institute documents and site visit.
The day concluded with a wrap-up meeting, during meeting the evaluator presented their findings and recommendations for improvement to ISFIT’s. The session culminated in the official signing of the recommendation report by both sides of the evaluator members and the Rector of ISFIT.
A closing ceremony marked the end of the accreditation process, attended by ISFIT’s leadership, the ANAAA Executive Director, and the entire evaluation team. As a symbolic gesture to commemorate the second cycle of institutional accreditation, ISFIT and the ANAAA evaluators planted a seedling in the institution’s garden, signifying the growth and future development of ISFIT.
